NEET results declared and Gujarat boy tops the exam

Supreme Court had directed the Board to put the results online on or before August 17, 2016.

CBSE announced the combined results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) - phase I and II on Tuesday - a day before the scheduled declaration of results. The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Board to put the results online on or before August 17, 2016.

Het Shah of Nadiad, Gujarat topped the exam scoring 685 out of 720, followed by Ekansh Goyal with 685 out of 720 from Rourkela, Odisha. Over 19,000 students have qualified in the top 15%, of which nearly 11,000 are boys, 8,000 girls, and 1 is a transgender. NEET-I and NEET-II were conducted on May 1, 2016 and July 24, 2016 respectively.

As per directions of the Supreme Court of India, CBSE has provided All India Rank to the candidates. Admitting authorities will draw merit list based on All India rank for the seats of MBBS/ BDS falling under their jurisdiction.

CBSE has also announced the top 10 candidates who scored 99.998632 percentile (668 marks out of 720) and above.
